Welcome to my little home on the web! I was motivated to develop this page when I found out that I was being opposed in my race for Kansas Precinct DB22 Republican Committeewoman. I wanted to provide a way for my constituents to learn more about me and be able to make an informed decision regarding whether they want to vote for me or not. We live in a Representative Republic and I think it is important to know as much as possible about the candidates running for office so that we can judiciously select the ones that most closely represent our own views. I am currently serving as the Kansas DB22 Republican Committeewoman and will be up for re-election on Tuesday, August 3, 2010.
I have been a resident of Derby, Kansas since 1987, when my Dad was assigned to McConnell Air Force Base. I love Derby and the people of Derby and am committed to doing what I can to preserve the safe, family-friendly community that we call home. I was homeschooled from 4th grade through high school and after graduating spent five years teaching Character First! Education in Derby Public Schools. My book, Pajama School - stories from the life of a homeschool graduate, is full of vignettes with Derby as the backdrop!
In 1998 I opened the doors of my independent piano studio and currently serve as on the boards of the Wichita Metropolitan Music Teachers Association, the South Central Kansas Music Teachers Association, and the Kansas Music Teachers Association. I am a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music and love teaching students of all ages and abilities.
Ever since I was little, our family has been involved in grassroots politics - distributing literature around the neighborhood, walking in parades, stuffing envelopes, etc. Now I am grateful for the privilege of serving my friends and neighbors as an active member of the Republican Party. We have digressed a long way from operating our nation the way that our Founding Fathers intended and I believe that we must stand firmly on the principles of the Constitution, derived from the unchanging Word of God, if we want to continue to enjoy freedom in this country. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or other issues that you would like to discuss with me.
You can visit any of the websites below to find out more about me.
I would appreciate your vote on August 3.
Thanks!
